Providing High-quality Ti 15333 Titanium Plates to Serve Customers Worldwide
TI15333 plate is a high-performance α-β phase titanium alloy plate developed for mission-critical industrial scenarios, characterized by its precisely controlled chemical composition and superior comprehensive mechanical properties. he material exhibits excellent corrosion resistance, with a corrosion rate of less than 0.1 mm/year in 3.5% NaCl solution and stable performance under continuous operating temperatures up to 350°C, effectively resisting pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in harsh environments. It strictly complies with ASTM B265 and AMS 4911 standards, ensuring consistent dimensional tolerance (±0.05 mm for thickness ≥5 mm) and metallurgical uniformity, while its low oxygen content (<0.18%) enhances weldability and fatigue resistance, supporting reliable fabrication of complex structural components.
Where is Ti15333 titanium plate used?
TI15333 Plate is widely adopted in industries with stringent material performance requirements. In the aerospace sector, it is a key material for airframe structural parts such as wing spars and fuselage frames, as well as aero-engine static components, where its high strength-to-weight ratio contributes to aircraft fuel efficiency, and its thermal stability withstands cyclic temperature fluctuations during takeoff and landing. In the oil and gas industry, it is used for subsea wellhead housings, riser connectors, and offshore platform load-bearing structures, capable of resisting corrosion from H₂S-containing sour service environments and seawater without relying on heavy protective coatings. Within the medical device field, it is processed into orthopedic implant components like hip stems and spinal fixation plates, meeting ISO 10993-5 biocompatibility standards to ensure minimal tissue reaction and good osseointegration. Additionally, it finds application in high-end chemical processing equipment (such as reactor vessels and heat exchanger tubes) and marine propulsion systems, where its corrosion resistance and mechanical stability support long-term, low-maintenance operation.
Compared to other titanium grades
Compared to pure titanium (such as Grade 2), Ti-15333 is significantly stronger. Pure titanium’s strengths lie in corrosion resistance and ease of formability, but its strength is average. Ti-15333 is designed for high strength and is suitable for aircraft structural components or high-performance springs.
Compared to the most commonly used titanium alloy grade, Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5), Ti-15333’s strength lies in its improved cold working properties, meaning it can be easily shaped at room temperature, such as by bending or stamping. While Ti-6Al-4V offers excellent overall properties, cold working is much more difficult.
Finally, compared to another high-strength alloy, Beta C, both are beta alloys, but their focus is different. Beta C offers extreme corrosion resistance, making it particularly suitable for use in chemical environments. Ti-15333, on the other hand, focuses on a balance between high strength and good formability.

Ti15333, also known by its UNS number R58530 or its commercial name TB5, is a metastable beta titanium alloy. Its nominal composition is Ti-15V-3Cr-3Sn-3Al. It is specifically designed for excellent cold formability, making it distinct from the more common alpha-beta alloys like Ti-6Al-4V.
Ti15333 is prized for its unique combination of properties:
- Exceptional Cold Formability: It can be cold formed by up to 70-90% in the solution-treated condition, allowing for the creation of complex shapes that are difficult or impossible with other titanium alloys.
- High Strength: After a simple aging heat treatment, it can achieve high tensile strength, typically over 1080 MPa (156 ksi).
- Low Elastic Modulus: It has a lower modulus (~80 GPa) compared to other titanium alloys, giving it high elasticity and excellent spring-back. This makes it ideal for flexible components and springs.
- Good Weldability: It can be readily welded in the solution-treated condition.
- Corrosion Resistance: Like most titanium alloys, it offers outstanding resistance to corrosion in many environments.
Ti15333 is typically processed in two stages:
- Solution Treatment (Annealing): The material is heated to approximately 790-815°C (1450-1500°F), held for a short time, and then rapidly cooled (air or water quench). This puts the alloy into a soft, ductile condition, optimal for cold forming.
- Aging (Precipitation Hardening): After forming, the part is aged at a lower temperature, typically between 480-595°C (900-1100°F), for 2-24 hours. This process precipitates fine alpha particles within the beta matrix, significantly increasing the material’s strength.
Absolutely. We provide customization for thickness (2mm-100mm), length/width (up to 3000mm×1500mm), and cut-to-size services based on CAD drawings. For complex shapes (e.g., curved plates for aerospace components), we support cold forming or hot forming with post-processing to maintain mechanical properties.
Yes. Its alloy composition enables excellent resistance to sour service corrosion (H₂S-containing environments). Testing shows a corrosion rate of <0.1 mm/year in 3.5% NaCl solution (simulating seawater) and no stress corrosion cracking in H₂S partial pressures up to 0.1 MPa, meeting NACE MR0175 standards for oilfield materials.
