Characteristics & Properties of Hastelloy B3
Hastelloy B3 pipe (N10675) is a nickel-based high-temperature alloy composed of nickel, molybdenum, cobalt and other elements, with a nickel content of about 65%. Hastelloy B3 (N10675) nickel-based alloy material is a new material improved on the basis of Hastelloy B2, which improves the thermal stability of the material, thereby improving the corrosion resistance, and at the same time, improves the hot forming and cold forming properties.
Corrosion resistance: Hastelloy B3 has excellent corrosion resistance to hydrochloric acid at any temperature and concentration, and also has good corrosion resistance to non-oxidizing media such as sulfuric acid, acetic acid, formic acid, phosphoric acid, etc. Its thermal stability has been significantly improved compared to B2, and it has high resistance to pitting corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, knife corrosion, and corrosion in the heat-affected zone of welding.
Mechanical properties: The tensile strength of Hastelloy B3 is usually between 690 and 860 MPa, the yield strength is usually between 310 and 550 MPa, the elongation is generally between 40% and 50%, and the hardness is usually between 20 and 30 Rockwell hardness (HRC).
Forming processing characteristics: Hastelloy B3 has a high elongation, which creates favorable conditions for cold forming. However, since it is harder than austenitic stainless steel and has a more obvious tendency to work hardening, it requires greater pressure or step-by-step forming during cold forming. When the cold forming deformation rate is less than 10%, it will not affect the corrosion resistance of the workpiece, but the presence of residual stress may cause thermal cracks in the weld during welding.
Hastelloy B3 is widely used in the fields of chemical, petrochemical, energy manufacturing and pollution control, especially in industries such as H2SO4, HCl, H3PO4, CH3COOH, etc. It is used to manufacture key equipment such as reactors, heat exchangers, pipelines and valves. Due to its excellent hydrochloric acid corrosion resistance, these equipment can operate stably for a long time in a high concentration of hydrochloric acid environment.
Welding characteristics: Hastelloy B3 can be welded by all common welding methods, but GTAW welding method is recommended. ERNiMo-10 welding materials should be selected according to ASME ⅡSFA-5.14/SFA-5.14M standards. The groove and welding materials should be cleaned before welding, and small line energy should be used during welding to prevent excessive heat input.

Advanced Production:Hastelloy alloy pipe
- Hastelloy B3 seamless tubes are hot rolled or hot extruded, straightened, processed with inner and outer diameters, and surface treated. Tubes can be supplied in heat-treated or non-heat-treated forms. Daxun has 100% ultrasonic testing capabilities.
- Hot rolled tube/hot extruded Hastelloy B3 seamless tube: outer diameter 1.0 mm to 325 mm, wall thickness 0.3 mm to 50 mm, length up to 12000 mm.
- Cold rolled Hastelloy B3 seamless tube: Cold processed tubes are supplied after heat treatment, surface treatment, hydrostatic test or ultrasonic inspection according to the requirements of the manufacturing specification. Outer diameter 6 mm to 102 mm, wall thickness 0.5 mm to 20 mm, length up to 9000 mm
