Ti-15-3-3-3, also known by its alloy designation Ti-15333, is a high-strength, metastable beta titanium alloy. Its chemical composition is approximately 15% Vanadium, 3% Chromium, 3% Aluminum, and 3% Tin, with the remainder being titanium. This unique composition gives it a distinct set of properties that differentiate it from the more common alpha-beta alloys like Ti-6Al-4V.
The primary advantage of Ti-15-3-3-3 lies in its excellent cold formability. In its solution-treated (annealed) condition, it is quite ductile and can be readily formed into complex shapes, including tubing, sheets, and wires, at room temperature.
