Stainless Steel plate application cases in different industries
Stainless steel plate is widely used in construction, including exterior
wall cladding, interior decoration, roofing, and structural applications.
Its corrosion resistance and mechanical strength make it suitable for both
long-term exposed applications and structural load-bearing use, while
surface finish options (brushed, mirror, embossed) support a range of
architectural design requirements.
Corrosion resistance and a smooth, easy-to-clean surface make stainless
steel plate well suited to food machinery applications — including
sanitation systems, fluid pipe troughs, food storage tanks, heat
exchangers, and vacuum vessels. Mechanical properties remain stable across
a wide temperature range, supporting both hot processing and cold storage
equipment.
Stainless steel plate offers a combination of strength, toughness, and
corrosion resistance suited to demanding structural applications.
Petroleum refining equipment manufacturing and maintenance uses medium-thick
plate and cold-rolled sheet in grades including 321 and 316L. Typical
specification for petrochemical vessel applications: SUS316, thickness
0.3-0.6mm, width 1219-1520mm, surface finish 2B/2D.
Stainless steel plate is used in shipbuilding for its resistance to
seawater corrosion, along with strength, toughness, and fatigue resistance
— properties suited to the demanding marine environment.
316L is a widely used austenitic stainless steel grade for offshore
installations, offering a stable combination of mechanical strength and
resistance to chloride-induced corrosion in marine environments.
Duplex stainless steels combine high mechanical strength with strong
resistance to stress corrosion cracking, making them well suited to
offshore applications. UNS S32205 is the most commonly used duplex grade
for offshore installations.
Stainless steel plate is used in power generation applications for its
corrosion resistance and mechanical strength, supporting components that
operate under demanding thermal and structural conditions.
